소개

한국컴퓨터그래픽스학회와 서울대학교 생체운동창의연구단은 2015년 7월 13일-14일에 걸쳐 제2회 컴퓨터 그래픽스 여름학교를 개최합니다. 본 여름학교는 2015 한국컴퓨터그래픽스 학술대회와 연계 개최되어 학술대회를 참여하는 연구자들이 컴퓨터그래픽스의 몇 가지 주제들에 대하여 심도 있는 지식을 습득할 수 있도록 기획 되었습니다. 이번 여름학교에는 물리기반 캐릭터 애니메이션, computational photography, 실사 렌더링 분야에서 활발한 연구 결과를 내고 계시는 세 분의 연사를 모시고 각 분야의 기초 지식을 학습하고 심화 주제에 대하여 토론하는 기회를 마련하였으니 많은 참여를 부탁 드립니다.

      ◆ Introduction to Physics-based Character Animation

Physics-based character animation is studied increasingly widely for its potential to create natural motions interactive to the users and the environments. This tutorial will first cover dynamics algorithms to simulate articulated characters and basic controllers such as PD controllers and computed torque controllers for tracking reference motions. Then core concepts regarding the balance of biped characters, such as ZMPs, as well as various approaches for creating physics-based locomotion are discussed..

약력: Sung-Hee Lee is an Assistant Professor with the Graduate School of Culture Technology at KAIST. He received the Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA in 2008, and the BS and MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Seoul National University, Korea, in 1996 and 2000, respectively. He was an Assistant Professor at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology from 2010 to 2013, and a Postdoctoral researcher at UCLA from 2008 to 2009, and at Honda Research Institute, CA, from 2009 to 2010. He also has held positions at KIST (Visiting Scholar, 2003), and Samsung Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Researcher, 2000-2002).

 

      ◆ Introduction to Computational Imaging and Light Fields Imaging

Computational imaging is a research field in computer graphics and computer vision that aims to overcome the limitation of conventional cameras by capturing images with new sensors to encode more information about the scene and having a computational module to decode the information. In this tutorial, I will first overview the computational imaging area and introduce topics such as coded exposure and coded aperture imaging. Then I will talk about the light field imaging in detail, from the parameterization of the light fields to the description about the handheld light field camera and its application to refocusing.

약력: Seon Joo Kim received the BS and MS degrees from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, in 1997 and 2001. He received the PhD degree in computer science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008. After working at National University of Singapore as a research fellow from 2009 to 2011, he returned to Korea as an assistant professor at SUNY Korea in 2012. Since 2013, he is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science, Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea.

Rendering is one of the fundamental research areas in computer graphics, which is striving to bring photorealistic imagery to digital media. Despite the recent strides made in graphics algorithms and hardware, real-time simulation of light propagation remains challenging. In this talk, I would like to introduce modern way of real-time rendering, recent attempts to realize real-time rendering, and its associated issues.:

약력: Sungkil Lee is an associate professor of Software Department at Sungkyunkwan University, Korea. He obtained his BS (2002) and PhD (2009) degrees in Materials Science and Engineering and Computer cience and Engineering at POSTECH, respectively. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut (MPI) Informatik (2009~2011).
